ABA Tech Stack – Platform Highlights

  • Passage Health rolled out AI-generated Re-Assessment Reports via integration with Frontera’s reassessment builder to reduce BCBA time on re-assessments.
  • CentralReach announced a partnership with Viventium, integrating payroll/HCM options for providers.
  • Lumary introduced automated SMS reminders, enhancing its RCM and scheduling capabilities.
  • Motivity launched a tracker for onboarding, training, credentialing, and contracting, expanding beyond clinical workflows
  • RethinkFirst appointed a new COO; Jamie Pagliaro is now CEO of EarliTec Diagnostics.
  • Ensora named John Damgaard as CEO, signaling a leadership shift.

CentralReach Data Warehouse 2.0 – A Game Changer for their customers currently using Insights Data Warehouse and ABI

CentralReach made waves by (subtly) announcing they are replacing their Insights product with Data Warehouse 2.0. This new solution will provide data-savvy providers direct access to structured data, enabling them to build custom Business Intelligence (BI) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) frameworks.

However, the trade-off is that every ABI extract and dependent report may need to be updated to align with the new architecture.

Can't help but wonder if Roper's fingerprints are on this one...

👉 Maybe a good time for these providers to think about re-factoring their entire Data Extraction, Hosting, Integration and Reporting framework?

ABA Provider Highlights

This month, we focus on the growing influence of nonprofits, the benefits of having to implement KPI’s, as well as the rapid growth of a few mid-sized providers in recent months.

  • The Growing Influence of Nonprofits in ABA Care – Nonprofits like Elwyn and Catalyst remain essential to ensuring access to care, particularly in underserved areas. They often act as gatekeepers of care - and should be of particular interest to for-profit providers. Non-profits are increasingly leveraging technology and data-driven solutions to improve care quality and operational efficiency. Read more here.
  • Enterprise KPI’s make you a better Provider – If you've had to make a KPI presentation for your board or leaders, you know the stress and doubt it brings. Even with strong operations, showing numbers can lead to close inspection — especially when they don’t show everything. But the benefits include much happier customers, staff and investors.
  • Mid-Sized Providers Showing Rapid Growth – In recent months, several mid-sized ABA providers like SOAR, Yellow Bus ABA and Achievements ABA have experienced significant growth - even outpacing many of the biggest providers. Could the next generation platforms be the driver?

Operator Spotlight – AnswersNow

This month’s spotlight features AnswersNow, a virtual-first ABA provider focused on delivering BCBA-led care through telehealth. Their innovative approach emphasizes measurable outcomes and is designed for value-based contracts and sustainable growth.

Why It Matters

By utilizing AI tools and focusing on Vineland scores and parent satisfaction, AnswersNow aims to provide high-quality, scalable care. Their model is built to reduce overhead while improving access and therapy quality.

🔍Next month, I am planning to do a spotlight that looks at the largest ABA provider from a total outsider’s perspective. Should be fun!

Industry Insights

Here’s a look at some key insights from recent posts, offering a deeper dive into market trends and challenges:

  • Credentialing in ABA – Credentialing is becoming a complex process for providers as they scale. In a recent post, I break down the lifecycle of credentialing, from tracking CEUs to ensuring compliance with payor contracts.
  • Investor’s Dilemma in ABA – With increasing competition and pressure to scale quickly, investors in ABA are facing tough decisions. I discuss the challenges and strategic considerations for investors looking to maximize their impact in this growing space.
  • Prescription Fulfillment in ABA – As operational efficiency becomes more critical, prescription fulfillment is essential for measuring success. I talk about how platforms can use tech and operations to avoid under-delivering the approved care.

ABA Events and Conferences

As the ABA landscape continues to evolve, these key events provide valuable opportunities for networking and learning:

  • CR Unite (Chicago, Oct 20-22)
Join me at the CentralReach annual user conference for insights on platform innovations, AI applications, and more. Let’s connect if you’re attending!
  • Autism Investor Summit East (Arlington, VA, Nov 23)
I’m still considering attending AIS East this November to explore new investment opportunities in ABA tech. Let me know if you’re attending—it might be the nudge I need!

Closing Thoughts

At ABA Mission, our mission is to advance autism care for kids in need by supporting providers, investors, and platform teams in navigating the evolving ABA tech landscape. We focus on making care smarter, more efficient, and scalable through technology and data.

However, as we move forward in developing and refining these tools, we must also consider the inclusion of autistic adults with tech skills in shaping the future of the industry. Whether you’re a provider, investor, or platform developer, there’s a unique opportunity to involve individuals on the spectrum in the development and testing of tools—especially when it comes to data management.

How can we do better? I’ve written more about this in a recent post, which explores the importance of involving autistic adults in these crucial roles. Read the post on inclusion in ABA tech.

Together, we can create a more inclusive, thoughtful, and effective ABA ecosystem that benefits all – after all isn't that WHY we're all in this?

Thanks again for being part of the ABA Mission community. Until next time.....

— Scott
